FINANCIAL AID NIGHT
September 12, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Senior students and parents,
There are several important updates about financial aid that the Franklin Central Guidance Office wants to make you aware of for this year. First, The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is a very important part of the financial aid process. Completing the FAFSA is a requirement for many types of financial aid, so every student who will be attending college next year should definitely complete the FAFSA. The FAFSA is available for families to complete starting October 1st. The FAFSA website is www.fafsa.gov–make sure to use this site when completing the FAFSA and not any other similar sites that may charge you a fee. The FAFSA is free to complete.
There are two upcoming opportunities for you to learn more about the FAFSA changes and the Financial Aid process. First, please plan to attend Franklin Central Financial Aid Night, with INvestEd College Planning presenting important information about the updated FAFSA and other financial aid information. Financial Aid Night will be on Wednesday, September 12th, at 7:00 pm in the Franklin Central High School Auditorium.
Second, College Goal Sunday is an event in which financial aid experts from around the state help parents and students in completing the FAFSA. This year, College Goal Sunday will be offered twice: on Sunday, October 28th, 2018, and on Sunday, February 24th, 2019. It is offered at many locations in the area, and you can find the complete listing of locations and detailed information on what to bring to the event at the website, www.
