📚 Book Fair 📚 The Scholastic Book Fair starts tomorrow! In person shopping at WELC is open 4/6-4/10. Hours: Monday- Thursday:6:30 AM - 5:30 PM Friday: 6:30 AM - 12:00 PM Can't come in person? No problem! We will share a link Monday morning for online shopping. Online shopping will be available 4/6 through 4/19. 25% of sales comes back to WELC in the form is Scholastic Dollars. These funds allow us to provide new materials for our classrooms. All shopping will be with a parent. Students will not visit the book fair on their own or with their class.

Coloring salt with chalk and pouring it into a bottle as a keepsake is such a fun, simple activity that hits so many developmental standards! As children use chalk to mix and transform the salt into different colors, they’re strengthening fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination while also exploring early science concepts like color mixing, cause and effect, and physical changes. This activity also supports social-emotional development as children express creativity, make choices, and feel a sense of pride in their finished keepsake. We are also hitting: • early math skills through measuring, scooping, layering, and noticing patterns • sensory exploration as they engage with different textures and visual changes • language development as they describe colors, processes, and their creations • creativity and artistic expression through designing their layered bottles • problem-solving and critical thinking as they experiment with how much chalk to use and how to achieve certain colors • focus and persistence as they work through the process step by step It’s one of those activities that looks simple but is packed with meaningful learning in every scoop and stir! #HomeOfTheTrailblazers #FutureFlashes #ProudToBeAFlash #IgnitingPurpose #WeAreFlashes
